It is July 2017 and my daughter is about to move out of the house.

This implies a lot of things, one of which is the reason for this blog: she will be cooking vegan dishes on her own. (Safety alert Greenwich! Just joking. Or maybe not. Mental note: add safety kitchen tips without sounding alarmist.)

So this is what this blog is about:  tips & recipes for a pragmatic & affordable veganism with my lovely daughter in mind and whoever else needs them.

Thanks to the exotic-named friend who suggested this. I always welcome extra work and fastidious ingredient measuring in my life 😉


Believe it or not, these olives came from a tree in the garden of the first house we rented in London.
